The X-Men have a lengthy history on television, with appearances ranging from 1966 to 2018, and despite the fact that there have been two live-action series, it is the animated series’ that have stood the test of time. Yet, since Wolverine and the X-Men in 2011, we haven’t seen an animated X-Men series, but that may be about to change!
According to Geeks WorldWide, sources within Marvel Studios have informed them that a Disney+ animated X-Men series is in the works. The report couldn’t say if it’ll be related to X-Men: The Animated Series or the planned MCU Mutants project, but it does believe it’ll be something entirely different.
After acquiring the X-Men property as part of the 20th Century Fox deal, this will be Disney’s first project based on the franchise. The series is expected to begin production in 2023.
