While Lucasfilm has a variety of Star Wars Disney+ series in the works, including The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and Andor, the Obi-Wan Kenobi series starring Ewan McGregor is one of the most anticipated by fans.
In addition to Ewan McGregor’s reprisal as the titular Jedi Master, his star Jedi pupil Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) is also set to return to this limited series, hinting toward an epic lightsaber showdown.
Currently, filming is underway, sparking a lot of speculation that Liam Neeson could reprise his role as Kenobi’s Master Qui-Gon Jinn.
Liam Neeson rejected his involvement in the planned Obi-Wan series in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, saying, “I haven’t been approached:”
“Yes, I heard Ewan McGregor was going to do a series. Um, no. I don’t think so. No, I haven’t been approached.”
In response to Neeson, Kimmel pointed out that he could be lying, implying that actors are great at it. Neeson just shrugged and laughed it off.
