2022 is looking to be the biggest year for Marvel Studios with over 10 projects coming out. Among these famous comic book storylines being brought to live-action is the upcoming Disney+ series called Secret Invasion.
Fans have been getting casting updates for this show since it’s been in pre-production. Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn will be reprising their roles as Nick Fury and Talos and will be building on their relationship which began in Captain Marvel and continued in the post-credit scene of Spiderman: Far From Home. The show has also added Emilia Clarke who is best known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones. To top that off, the Disney+ show is also adding Kingsley Ben-Adir and Olivia Colman to an already star-studded cast.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Thomas Bezucha, who directed last year’s Let Him Go, and Ali Selim, who worked on the 9-11 drama, The Looming Tower, will be the directing duo for Marvel’s Secret Invasion.
It is still unclear if the six-episode series will be split between them or if they will have an equal part within each episode. But based on their resumés, this is looking to be a very impressive series. It is also hard to say if this will be a very accurate comic adaptation due to the fact that the Secret Invasion series in the comics was a very long storyline that featured many shocking reveals and insane betrayals. We are not sure how closely Marvel Studios plans on making this adaptation compared to the comics, but we can definitely expect some great things to happen for this show with its amazing cast and now very trustworthy directors.
Marvel’s Secret Invasion is expected to drop on Disney+ in 2022.
