Excitement for new movie releases continues to grow as theaters slowly begin to reopen. Many films have been postponed for a long time as a result of the worldwide pandemic. Disney’s Jungle Cruise, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Emily Blunt, is one of them.

Yesterday, we got an exciting announcement about Jungle Cruise, thanks to The Rock. Check it out in the video below:

Jungle Cruise will release in theaters on July 30, 2021, as stated in the video announcement above. But, as an added bonus, Disney will release the film on Disney+ with Premier Access on the same day. As a result, viewers will have the choice of watching it at home or in a theater.

ICYMI, here is the official synopsis of Jungle Cruise:

“Inspired by the famous Disneyland theme park ride, Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” is an adventure-filled, rollicking thrill-ride down the Amazon with wisecracking skipper Frank Wolff and intrepid researcher Dr. Lily Houghton. Lily travels from London, England to the Amazon jungle and enlists Frank’s questionable services to guide her downriver on La Quila—his ramshackle-but-charming boat. She is determined to uncover an ancient tree with unparalleled healing abilities—possessing the power to change the future of medicine.

Thrust on this epic quest together, the unlikely duo encounters innumerable dangers and supernatural forces, all lurking in the deceptive beauty of the lush rainforest. But as the secrets of the lost tree unfold, the stakes reach even higher for Lily and Frank and their fate—and mankind’s—hangs in the balance.”

The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and stars Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Edgar Ramirez, and Jack Whitehall, as well as Jesse Plemons and Paul Giamatti. Davis Entertainment’s John Davis and John Fox, Seven Bucks Productions’ Dwayne Johnson, Hiram Garcia, and Dany Garcia, and Flynn Picture Co.’s Beau Flynn are the producers, with Scott Sheldon and Doug Merrifield acting as executive producers.

The story is by Michael Green, Glenn Ficarra & John Requa, and the screenplay is by John Norville & Josh Goldstein and Glenn Ficarra & John Requa.
